Quickshift Kit Support

Identify your Quickshifter

The Nextup quickshifter is setup to work in push or pull directions. A "pull" type quickshifter has a machined groove, or mark, just after the threaded rod. Push–pull conversions kits are available which include a replacement part and special tool for taking the quickshifter apart.

Mount your Quickshifter

The rod kit included with your quickshifter can be setup in 6 different ways to best suite your gear shifter arrangement. The quickshifter should be installed so that it does not interfere with the shift lever or the riders boot. Several threads should be engaged at all ends to prevent accidental pull-out. Jam nuts should be used at all ends to prevent accidental pull-out. The setup should create square, 90° angles, at both ends. The cable should be tied down away of moving parts, with enough slack to permit shifting in both directions.

Setup your Engine Kill and Delay Times

A properly setup quickshifter will:

  • Only work during upshifts
  • Quickly and smoothly change gears without upsetting the chassis
  • Work without use of the clutch
  • Work without the need to back off the throttle

Achieving good results requires smooth but firm foot action and some software tuning. If your setup includes the Nextup Contoller then tuning can be done right on the box without the need for a laptop. Use this guide to tune your Nextup Controller. If your setup includes a 3rd party controller then follow their software instructions to tune the quickshifter.
